Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026

This policy covers the 3D Screen Mirroring Mac app and its Quest receiver. Mirrored content is sent directly between your devices, not to the independent developer.

Screen mirroring

When you approve pairing on your Mac, screen content and audio are sent to the receiver you select over your local network or a configured USB tunnel. The developer does not receive, view, or store mirrored content. Screen and audio buffers are held temporarily while streaming; the Quest receiver does not save recordings.

The current local streaming connection is not encrypted. Use a trusted local network.

Information used on your devices

The Quest receiver stores your last connection mode, entered Mac address, and display and performance preferences locally so it can restore them. Pairing codes and connection information establish the current session. The receiver sends its device model, app version, and decoding capabilities to your Mac to select compatible stream settings.

Headset and controller poses are processed locally to position the display and controls. The app does not send those poses to the developer or an analytics service. Local diagnostic logs may include connection errors, video formats, and device information.

The app does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and the developer does not sell this information. Removing the Quest app removes its local preferences; Android backup is disabled for the release build.

Permissions

The Mac app asks for the macOS screen and audio permissions needed to capture the content you choose to share. You can review or change these in your Mac’s System Settings. The Quest receiver uses network and OpenXR access for its immersive display; it does not request microphone, camera, contacts, or storage access.

Purchases and platform services

The companion Mac app uses Apple’s purchase system for subscriptions and stores local trial and entitlement information. Apple and Meta handle their own store and account information under their respective privacy policies. The Quest receiver does not currently request Meta Platform SDK account data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
